I've been coming here 4 or 5 times a year for 30 years or so. I've seen floods here before, but never this deep. Talking with locals, this has been like this for 2 months. There's no stream to talk of, it's just field run-off. True, the area of field that drains this way is quite large.
As you can see this is almost axle deep. We chose not to go through it. I had my only dry jeans for the weekend, expecting a short mile ride to the pub! Given the mud on the off-road paths we took, this may have been a mistake.
